Tejueleras
The Tejuelera basket is a reinterpretation of the classic vegetable fiber baskets made using the aduja technique. In this technique, a single strand of manila fiber is tied to a spiral of other strands using a needle. The particularity of the use of this technique in the weaving basket is that both the spiral and the tie strand are very thin, so that when weaving a very thick wall is built. Both in its configuration and in its coloring, this structure or wall evokes the traditional wooden shingles of the houses of southern Chile. Traditionally, this type of basket is used as a container for various objects and its uses are rather domestic, ranging from sewing baskets to paper baskets, among others.
Tejueleras
La cesta Tejuelera es la reinterpretación de las clásicas cestas de fibra vegetal elaboradas utilizando la técnica aduja. En esta, una sola hebra de fibra de manila va amarrando un espiral de otras hebras utilizando una aguja. La particularidad del uso de esta técnica en la cesta tejuelera es, que tanto el espiral como la hebra de amarre son muy finos, por lo que al tejer se construye una pared muy tupida. Tanto en su configuración como en su coloración, esta estructura o pared evoca las tejuelas de madera tradicionales de las casas del sur de Chile. Tradicionalmente, este tipo de cestas se utiliza como contenedor de diversos objetos y sus usos son más bien domésticos, variando desde costurero hasta canasto papero, entre otros.
